Dominicus Rief

Dominicus Rief was the son and pupil of Matthaus Rief, below. He was generally recognized as the best maker of the family. His craftsmanship was very fine and accurate. He created a distinctive yet well-proportioned personal model featuring long 'c' bouts and outward-pointing corners. The arch was moderately high. He often used quite plain materials and dark thin intransparent varnish.
