Jacopo Brandini
                                    Violin maker
                                    (fl. 1765 – 1807)

Jacopo Brandini was a rarely encountered maker. The varnish was a very thin pale grey-yellow. The model was an Amatise style, somewhat resembling the Genoese manner. An awkwardly placed small volute was on the pegbox, and there was a broad chest with small, widely spaced soundholes. Henley cited examples that featured painted purfling on the table and carved decoration on the back.
