Sydney Braithwaite Yeoman was a bow maker for W. E. Hill & Sons at Hanwell. He trained in the Hill workshop under W. C. Retford starting in 1891. He suffered a grievous injury during World War I, which affected his subsequent work, although finishing and correction were overseen by Retford.
