Francesco Ventura Di Linarol created a fine six-string viol housed in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. It featured a distinctive head that was flat-sided with an incised volute and a triple flute surrounding the pegbox, while the front was constructed from flat board with the arch supported by shaped transverse bars on the interior.
