Maximillian (Miksa) Frirsz. Son and pupil of Miksa Frirsz (I). Active maker since childhood. Attained master's qualification in 1942, following which he was called up for military service. Prior to that had worked alongside his father for Remenyi, Barany, and Werner. On leaving the army returned to Remenyi, but in 1950 opened his own shop at 3 Franz Liszt Square, moving later to Ede Paulay Street with F. Lakatos as his assistant. Moved to Canada 1956, leaving the business to Lakatos. Established on Broadway, New York, USA 1958, moving to 57th Street 1962. The business continues under the direction of his son, Nicholas Stephan. Copies of classical instruments, with various hues of shaded varnish.
