Francis Werentle
(b. c. 1746)
Francis Werentle was presumed to be a member of the Werendle/Wörnle family of Mittenwald, representing an important link between the two similar schools of work in London and Germany. His work featured a fine Stainer model, allied in style to Thomas Smith or John Johnson. It was a large model with a broad prominent white center to the purfling and had good quality golden-brown varnish. It was very rarely seen.
