Giovanni Varotti



(c. 1786 – 1825)

Giovanni Varotti established himself in Bologna from 1790. His early work featured rather eccentrically high arches. The model was derived from Stainer and had a slightly square outline. Instruments included cramped soundholes and scrolls. They utilized fine varnish and materials, with some featuring double purfling.
