Alexander Thoma
(1872 – after 1940)
Alexander Thoma was active from 1887. He was the son and pupil of Jacob Thoma. In 1889, he accompanied his father to Boston and took over his business in 1917. He was appointed as the repairer for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In 1940, he moved to Dorchester. He created copies of Amati, Stradivari, and Guarneri, using golden-brown, orange, and red oil varnish. Alexander Thoma / Boston, Mass. / 1928, U. S. A.
