Michael Rauche worked as a music seller, publisher, and instrument maker in Chandos Street and, by 1778, in Tufton Street-Lumley Street, Westminster, London. His earliest work was dated between 1757 and 1759. He also signed with the name Hoffmann and collaborated at some point with J. Dickeson.
