Michael Rauche
(d. c. 1784)
Michael Rauche worked as a music seller, publisher, and instrument maker in Chandos Street and, by 1778, in Tufton Street-Lumley Street, Westminster, London. His earliest work was dated between 1757 and 1759. He also signed with the name Hoffmann and collaborated at some point with J. Dickeson. In 1778, he was arrested and imprisoned for debt, and his business was taken over by J. Buchinger. He produced lutes and citterns of great quality.
