Georg Piegendorfer

Active since 1880, he was awarded first prize at the Augsburg Exhibition in 1886. He was succeeded in business by O. Ebner in 1906. His fine work included Stradivari and Guarneri models, and he was known for good golden-brown varnish. He also produced cellos and various plucked instruments. He authored Die Schwäbischen Geigenbauer vom Jahre 1600 bis auf unsere Zeit (Leipzig, 1895).
