Eugène Marchand
Violin maker
(1858 – 1916)
Eugène Marchand worked as a pupil of Durand and Laurent. He was employed by W. E. Hill and Sons in London in 1890, and later by Mougenot in Brussels and Sylvestre in Paris in 1897. He established himself independently in Paris in 1902 at 35 rue de Clery, relocating to 26 de la rue Poissonniere in 1904. He created fine copies of individual classical instruments and was a renowned restorer and repairer. He ran E. Marchand in Paris in 1913.
