Eugène Eberle I

Eugène Eberle was the son of Oscar Eberle, a professor of cello at Rotterdam Conservatoire. He apprenticed with C. F. Tomasowski and worked for Karel Van der Meer in Amsterdam and Otto Möckel in Berlin before opening his own shop in Rotterdam in 1904. Eberle received gold medals at the Rotterdam and Milan Exhibitions, and his varnish was characterized as golden yellow. His instruments are labeled: 'Eugène Eberle Vioolmaker / Fecit Rotterdam Anno 19..'
