Carl August Otto
(1801 – 1883)
Carl August Otto was the son and pupil of Jacob August. He established himself in Ludwigslust, Mecklenburg, in 1832. He served as a luthier to the Mecklenburg-Schwerin court. His work included some high-quality pieces, but also a significant amount of commercial quality. The varnish he used was dark, thin, and opaque.
