Notes:

"One of the most surprising, yet gratifying experiences, is to examine an instrument that has been tucked away for many years without having seen much use or abuse, thus affording a splendid opportunity to see the work of the master in its pristine state. Very often this occurs with instruments that are of under or oversized dimensions. Two of thebest examples in this sale were of this category: A Landolfi cello with a body length of 28 1/2 inches was a beauty! Everything about it was in perfect order, including its original coat of light golden yellow varnish. This is also true of a 3/4 length child's violin by Felice Mori Costa which had no cracks, patches, broken corners, or retouched varnish."
