On loan to the Smithsonian Institute till 2004.Axelrod Stringed Instrument Collection, Herbert Axelrod, Evelyn & Herbert Axelrod Stringed Instrument Collection
Reduced in size. Contains the following repair label: "Comp. por. Silverio Ortéga II N. Madrid anno 1795." When Albert Hamma discovered the instrument in Spain, it contained an original printed label (possibly original). Hamma, believing that only the handwritten Stainer labels were authentic, replaced the label with a fake handwritten label.
