Notes:

"Although he made larger cellos, this one has been exquisitely cut down to a manageable size."

"The history of this cello, as far as is known to us, is a brief one. It was when we first heard of it in a Finnish collection in the name of Harry Wahl. He owned many extraoridnarily fine instruments, and this instrument we believe same to him from Germany. It was sold to him as a Montagnana, and considering the unusual beauty of its varnish compared to the rather paler look of many Tecchlers, we can understand how such an error (?) might have been made. The cello is nevertheless typical of David Tecchler's work at his very finest."
