André Paul Dugad was a violin and bow maker. He worked for Caressa & Français in Paris from 1920 to 1932. In 1932, he established himself independently at 15 rue de Moscou and was joined in 1934 by J. Fétique. He specialized in making Guadagnini copies as a violin maker. Around 1938, he began bow making under the influence of Fétique, who left the partnership in 1950. He continued to work alone, producing a modest number of violins and bows. He received medals at the Paris Expositions in 1937 and 1942, as well as a diploma of honour in The Hague in 1949. He became Officier de l'Académie after serving for many years as the luthier repairer at the Paris Conservatoire. His bows were branded: ANDRÉ DUGAD PARIS. Instruments featured a printed label that read: André Dugad Luthier d'Art / an 19.. No.. Paris.
