Ole H. Bryant was the son of Charles Henry Bryant and also a pupil of Charles Gage. He was active from 1885. He moved to Wolfeboro with his father and later relocated to Boston in 1894 as a repairer for the Elias Howe Company. From 1905 to 1908, he worked with his uncle Edmund in Boston and continued with Oliver Ditson until 1910. He established his own shop in Thornton, where he created 162 violins ...Read More modeled after Guarneri and Stradivari, using amber oil varnish of exceptionally fine quality; he also made three violas and two cellos. A substantial staff of craftsmen was employed, and each instrument was signed individually. He was highly regarded in his time as an expert connoisseur and performed extensive repair work for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He taught violin making at summer schools in Boston and Wolfeboro near Lake Winnepesaukee.
