Bernard Millant (1929–2017), son of Max Millant, grew up around his father and uncle Roger's celebrated Paris workshop and went on to become one of the most widely respected French bow experts of his generation, later co-authoring the standard reference work on French bow making (with Jean-François Raffin) that this project itself has drawn on extensively. He was first cousin to Jean-Jacques Millant, Roger's own son.
