Camillo Mandelli 'da Calco'

Camillo Mandelli was known as 'Camillo da Calco' and was a pupil of Bisiach and Antoniazzi. He established himself in Buenos Aires from 1889 to 1920 before returning to Calco. In 1936, he moved finally to Sesto San Giovanni. His work reflected the Antoniazzi style, utilizing fine materials and varnish with red-brown and golden red tints. Cellos and double basses with carved backs were particularly successful. His pieces were rubber stamped and signed internally.
