Alberto Platner
Violin maker
(b. c. 1680)
Alberto Platner was presumed to have been of Tyrolean origin. He was first recorded with the Dominicus family in Rome, who were makers of plucked instruments. He established himself independently in 1674. In 1701, he was appointed luthier to the Palazzo Pamphilj. He employed several assistants, including his son Michele and G. Taningard.
