Seorim Swaine
(1849 – 1929)
Seorim Swaine established himself as an amateur maker and repairer. He was a pupil of James McCauley and was active from 1910 in Rochester. Approximately 100 instruments were made, with some utilizing wood that had been seasoned in brine. His models were derived from Stradivari and Guarneri. The oil varnish ranged from light yellow to dark brown or shades of red. Made by Seorim Swaine, Rochester, New Hampshire, U. S. A. No. 19.
