Joseph Anton Laske
(1738 – 1805)
Joseph Anton Laske was a pupil of J. Kolditz. He subsequently worked in Dresden, Berlin, Vienna, and Brno. From 1764, he established himself in Prague at the sign 'Au Petit Serpent d'Or'. His models were derived from Stainer and used plain materials. He applied a golden-brown varnish until around 1790, after which he switched to a deep red-brown. He crafted bowed instruments of all forms.
