William Wilkinson
Violin maker
–
William Wilkinson was the son-in-law, apprentice, and successor to Thomas Perry. He entered into partnership with Perry in 1790 and took over the business following Perry's death in 1818. The shop subsequently passed to another pupil of Perry, J. Mackintosh. A fine small viola was noted, and other work was very much in the style of Perry, although his actual contribution to the workshop as a craftsman or businessman remains unknown.
