Paolo Scarampella

Paolo Scarampella was a carpenter and amateur violin maker active in the parish of Sant’Alessandro in Brescia. He was the father of Giuseppe and Stefano Scarampella, who became prominent figures in nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Italian violin making. Both sons are believed to have acquired their first woodworking skills in their father’s workshop.
