Giorgio Corsini
Violin maker

Giorgio Corsini was a violinist and a self-taught violin maker, guided by R. Fredi. He was a fine craftsman who created various models featuring a range of varnishes. He also made cellos, double basses, viols, and viola d'amores. From 1949 to 1951, he was occupied with repair work for the atelier of Fredi, which was then run by his daughter. In 1952, he established his own shop. He received medals at the 3rd violin making competition in Rome and in Florence in 1957. He was a very highly regarded maker and restorer.
