Sacquin
Violin maker
(c. 1830 – 1863)
Sacquin was presumed to be the son of Nicolas or Philippe Sacquin and was a pupil of Aldric. He established himself at 14 rue Beauregard around 1840. His work featured a Stradivari model with refined craftsmanship. His cellos and double basses received much admiration. They had a good thickly applied red-brown oil varnish and were branded internally. A printed label was also present.
