Judah (Jo) Juda was a Dutch violinist of Jewish descent, studying with Alexandre Moskowsky, Oskar Back and Carl Flesch. He held the position of concertmaster of the Amsterdam Bach Orchestra (1934-1936), Orchestral Association Arnhem (1936-1937) and Groninger Orkest Vereniging (1937-1939) and, after the Second World War, the Utrecht Symphony Orchestra and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. From 1963 to 1974 he was the concertmaster of the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam.
As a soloist he also performed extensively and premieried works by several Dutch composers. He taught at the Conservatory of Maastricht, the Hague Conservatory and Conservatory of Amsterdam. His students include Dutch violinist André Rieu.
Jo Juda owned this Pietro Guarneri of Mantua violin from 1947 to 1972.
