This storied Nicolas Maline violin bow comes to us directly from Norway's celebrated violinist Arve Tellefsen. Now aged 89, Tellefsen is one of Norway’s most distinguished violinists. He made his legendary career performing with major orchestras worldwide, collaborating with celebrated conductors and artists, and championing the works of Norwegian composers. Beyond his performances, Tellefsen is a dedicated advocate for music education, inspiring generations of musicians through teaching and mentorship and his students include many notable violinists. He has received numerous honours, including Norway’s highest cultural awards, recognizing not only his artistic excellence but also his role in elevating Norwegian music on the world stage. This fine bow is visually striking, featuring richly-flamed golden pernambuco with crisp chamfers behind the head; the hallmark of Maline's excellence as a craftsman. The stick is of superb quality and a true "player's bow” with mountings not original, increasing its accessibility and affordability.
