Daniel Müller-Schott writes, “This Francesco Goffriller cello was my first old Italian instrument and I played on it from 1996 until 2004. I hold the sound of it dearly in my heart. As my musical partner, I experienced many concerts with this cello and made a number of recordings with orchestras and piano. For example, I recorded Khachaturian Concerto with the City of Birmingham Symphony and Sakari Oramo on the Orfeo label, and some contrasting French repertoire by Ravel, Debussy, Poulenc and Franck, together with pianist Robert Kulek for EMI Classics. The main experience for me was the sensation of a most singing, velvety-warm sound, a sound that can move you. For me, as a young musician, it opened-up doors to the fascinating and complex sound world of the Goffriller family. I hope the instrument finds a wonderful new home with someone who is as curious as I was when I first discovered its special personality.”

  • Proforma Certificate: Tarisio, London (Oct 28 2024)
  • Certificate: John & Arthur Beare, London (Nov 17 1997)
