Harriett Wilson was the glamorous face of the golden age of Swing. The only female lead of an all-woman ensemble and orchestra to broadcast nationally over all the major radio networks, Harriett headlined shows with Benny Goodman, Rudy Vallee, Louis Prima and Tommy Dorsey, while bringing glitz to California hot spots like the Coconut Grove and Palomar Ballroom and the Symphony of Loveliness all-woman orchestra.
As a side-line to their musical presence, The Singing Strings also appeared as trick-riders in equestrian shows in the 1930's--Harriett standing atop two galloping horses in her role as member of the renown California Girl's Mounted Troop.
An active musician throughout her long, rewarding life, Harriett played first violin in the Angermayer Quartet, performed session work for major motion pictures and labels and sat first chair in various California orchestras. Her home life echoed with the sounds of rehearsals and a family deeply enriched and immersed in the music world.
