Unlabelled. The fingerboard stamped with the W. E. Hill & Sons registration number R453, matching a violin by De Comble sold by the firm in 1947.
Back: in two pieces of quarter cut maple with medium-width flame ascending from the center seam.
Top: in two pieces of spruce with grain of varying widths.
Scroll: of plainer maple.
Ribs: of similar wood.
Varnish: of a reddish-brown color.
Length of back: 35.5 cm
Upper bouts: 16.9 cm
Middle bouts: 11.5 cm
Lower bouts: 20.7 cm
