Bearing the W. E. Hill & Sons registration number to the fingerboard, "Y171" which corroborates this violin as the work of Joseph Panormo.
Rosewood pegs.
Back: in two pieces of maple with flame ascending from the center seam.
Top: in two pieces of spruce with medium width grain broadening towards the edges.
Scroll: of plainer maple.
Ribs: similar to the back
Varnish: of a golden brown colour
Length of back: 34.9 cm

Middle bouts: 11.2 cm
Lower bouts: 20.7 cm
