Antonio Stradivari, Cremona, 1685, the 'Spinola'

Violin: 44558

Notes:

". . . It [the violin] was lost during the second world war, only to be brought [sic] for a fraction of its value in the early seventies by a violinist from an American orchestra touring Italy. He purchased it as a "nice Italian violin", and you can imagine his surprise when experts told him he had in fact made the deal of a lifetime!"
