A violino piccolo. The Schambach-Kaston Collection of Musical Instruments, Richard T. Rephann, The Schambach-Kaston Collection of Musical Instruments, New Haven
"This instrument is perhaps the best preserved extant Cremonese instrument. It survives with all its original fittings, the varnish has never been retouched, and one readily forms the impression that the instrument was never played. As the violino poccolo was out of fashion at the time this one was finished, this impression may be accurate."
