Antonio Stradivari, Cremona, 1714, the 'Yoldi-Moldenhauer'

Violin: 75511

Back: Two-piece maple with medium wide flames.

Scroll: Maple with less pronounced curl.

Varnish: Golden orange-brown colour on a golden ground.

Notes:

Yoldi brought the violin to Denmark upon his arrival in 1800. It is certain that the violin was soon known in musical circles of Copenhagen as the Yoldi-Stradivari violin.

The Yoldi-Moldenhauer violin was donated to the Royal Theatre in 1864, with the intention that it should always be available to the concertmaster of the Royal Opera Orchestra.
