Dated 1711.

Back: Two-piece cut on the slab

Top: two pieces of spruce of medium to fine grain on the treble side widening towards the edge; the bass side fine in the centre widening considerably towards the edge

Scroll: the head also by Stradivari but from an earlier period and replacing a previous replica attributed to George Chanot.

Varnish: revarnished.

Notes:

"The instrument carries a label dated 1711, although a recent dendrochronological report has suggested the instrument dates from 1707-1709."
