"This instrument is in an exceptionally pure state; in fact there are few instruments by any maker of that period which are in as fresh condition. It remains uncut with a back length of 756mm and retains varnish of exceptionally rich texture that has not been spoilt by overpolishing. It was sold by us on behalf of a prominent New York musician to its current owner. Before that it was owned by Laurence Witten and formed part of his famous collection."J. & A. Beare - Notable Sales
