Certificates & Documents
- Certificate: Emil Hjorth & Sønner, Copenhagen (1961) Gives some provenance: from around 1908 to 1918 the instrument was in the possession of Zimmermann, the music publishers and instrument dealers in St. Petersburg. During that period it was apparently loaned out to local artists for use in special concerts.
- Certificate: W. E. Hill & Sons, London (1932) States that the instrument is uncut and follows a pattern inspired by Domenico Montagnana. At the time the certificate was written, this was one of only five or six 'cellos by Deconet known to Hills and the certificate refers to their great scarcity. The certificate also indicates the head to be the work of Guidantus.
