Certificates & Documents
- Dendrochronology report: John C. Topham, Surrey (2002) Gives a date of 1677 for the last ring before the purfling, plus four rings for the edge. This suggests that the violin cannot have been made before the mid-1680s, and was therefore almost certainly not made in Cremona, as Alfred Hill suggests.
- Certificate: W. E. Hill & Sons, London (1934)
- Letter: W. E. Hill & Sons, London (1934) States that the instrument to be 'an interesting and characteristic example' of the early work of Pietro Guarneri.
- Certificate: Emil Herrmann, New York, New York, NY (1918) Attributes the instrument to Andrea Guarneri
