- Letter: W. E. Hill & Sons, London (1935) States that the instrument was discovered, stored away in a "lumber room", and later, about 1900, brought to the Hill firm by its owner, Sir John Dickson-Pynder.
- Certificate: W. E. Hill & Sons, London (1935) States the instrument was made around 1703 despite the label which reads 1715.
