"This violin is invariably given the date of 1734 in 19th century sources, including Edward Heron-Allen, Gallay and in the notebook of C.E. Gand. In 1885, Heron-Allen published precise technical drawings of the violin in his famous treatise 'Violin Making As It Was and Is.'"
