Notes:
After taking the instrument to Francais in 1975 to improve the tone, Kyung-Wha realates the following: "A thorough inspection was undertaken and they agreed that the inside was in perfect condition. What had appeared to be a crack from the outside was found not to be, and what was even more extraordinary is that il had its original bass-bar and consequently had not been opened for years! This in itself is very interesting if only to show that Kubelik could fill a hall with superb tone aided by a short bassbar! And a slraighter neck! Francais replaced the bass-bar with one of modern dimension and tilted the neck.. . ."Kyung-Wha Chung, Margaret Campbell, The Strad, September, 1977, London
