Branded twice to the inside top and back and to the bass bar, "Candi Oreste, Genova." Inscribed to the inside top, "Candi Oreste, Fece in Genova, L'Anno 1922" and above the f-holes illegibly.
Illustrated in "The Modern Italian Violin Makers" by Dmitry Gindin, p. 328.
Back: in two pieces of quarter cut maple with medium-width flame descending from the center seam.
Top: in two pieces of spruce with medium-width grain broadening toward the edges.
Ribs: and head of similar wood.
Varnish: of a light reddish-brown color.
Length of back: 35.8 cm
Upper bouts: 16.8 cm
Middle bouts: 11.1 cm
Lower bouts: 21.2 cm
