Asa Warren White was the son and pupil of John White. He worked for Henry Prentiss and formed a partnership with his brother Ira in Boston from 1849 to 1863. Later, he employed Calvin Baker and Orrin Weeman. His work included Stradivari, Guarneri, and some Maggini models, featuring a golden-brown varnish. He was a prolific maker of violins, viols, cellos, and viols. He was also the author of.
