Prosper Cabasse I
Violin maker
(c. 1782 – 1810)
Prosper Cabasse produced some narrow high-arched examples, along with other flatter, more classical models. The workmanship was only of average quality, exhibiting a somewhat trade-like quality. A light brown-orange varnish was used. The triangular brand read: `Cabasse à Paris. ' Imitation work with a similar brand appeared as late as 1864.
