Henry Bentin
Bow maker / Violin maker

Henry Bentin was a violin and bow maker. He was taught by his father and emigrated with him to Iowa. In 1889, he established his own workshop in St. Louis, later moving to New Orleans in 1896. There, he was assisted by his sons. His work featured Stradivari or Amati models and utilized shaded red-yellow varnish. He was known for his conscientious work and made a copy of the Stradivari 'Emperor' violin for Jan Kubelik.
