Thomas Dennison
Violin maker
–
The violin, which is very Florentine in appearance, featured full Staineresque arching, long angled soundholes, thin pale golden yellow varnish, and plain wood. It was probably associated with J. Scott, a local and contemporary maker. Many such instruments may have been relabelled by dealers with Florentine or other provincial Italian names. It was made at Yannath near Penrith and is marked fecit no. 628.
