Franz Wornle
Violin maker
–
Franz Wornle worked in Mittenwald and Freising. He created a typical high arch, slightly pigeon-breasted design with a wide edge channel. His work was neat and belonged to the Stainer or Klotz school, featuring a nicely rounded, well-governed outline. The scroll had a prominent eye, and he used a transparent light golden-brown varnish.
