Annibalotto Fagnola
Violin maker
(1910 – 1984)
Nicknamed 'Annibalotto' distinguish him from his namesake and uncle, Annibale Fagnola began to work in his uncle's workshop around 1925 at the insistence of his father Marcello. He quickly showed enormous talent for violin making, but compulsory military service prevented him from pursuing the craft with any continuity, and he seems to have abandoned violin making not long after inheriting his uncle's shop upon his death in 1939. Consequently, his output was small, but bears the mark of his uncle's capable direction and is of noteworthy quality.
